In trying to get back to my jdrama roots, I thought I’d take a look back at some of my favorite Original Soundtracks. There are some dramas that can go without a particularly noticeable soundtrack, but when they do have an outstanding theme it makes the drama itself more enjoyable. It’s not often that I download drama OSTs, but these ones were so good that I had to keep listening to them even after the show had ended.
Obviously this is in no way objective, but just a list of the male Korean actors that I’ve fallen in love with through their acting (…alright, and hotness).
You Almost Made The Cut: Sung Joon, Lee Min Ki, Lee Sun Gyun
5. Kim Soo Hyun
One of the most popular young actors in South Korea at the moment, Kim Soo Hyun has captured the hearts of many, many viewers. He has a quiet, but strong grasp on the audience in whatever drama or film he’s in.
My Favorite Drama: Dream High
Kim Soo Hyun has been in a lot of really good dramas and movies, but Dream High was where I first saw and fell in love with him. Sam Dong was so adorable and talented, I was immediately hooked. It was the worst case of second lead syndrome I’d ever had. Soo Hyun brought out not only his impressive acting chops, but his fantastic singing voice as well.
Other Popular Dramas: You Who Came from the Stars, The Moon that Embraces the Sun
Films: Secretly, Greatly, The Thieves
In honor of SHINee’s 6th anniversary, I thought I’d do a post on my all-time favorite songs from my all-time favorite group. SHINee was one of the first groups I ever got really into (*cough*obsessedwith*cough*) and as the years go by they continue to amaze me. Even in the K-pop world, you do not come across a group that has the singing skills, dancing abilities, and passion that SHINee does. So here’s a list of my Top 10 SHINee songs (in no particular order because that would be too hard):
“Just once… I’ll say this just once, so listen up. I like you. Whether you’re a man or an alien, I don’t care anymore. I tried getting rid of my feeling, but I couldn’t. So let’s go, as far as we can go. Let’s give it a try.”
